Still Life with Figs is very much a traditional styled photograph influenced by the Dutch Masters of the Golden Age. It is abundant with sensual figs, passion fruits, herbs and grapes partnered with local cheese and wine. This abundance was traditional in the 17th and 18th centuries to demonstrate the wealth of the owner. Although not exotic these days, this photograph has alushness and sense of abundance. The cheese at its centre is Baron Bigod from Fen Farm Dairy in Suffolk. What better way to say “thank you” for a lovely meal?!
